An understanding of colour is the basis of all painting. This course works from basic exercises in mixing colour to an appreciation of colour relationships. We will experiment with a variety of media and work with still lives, imaginative themes, landscape and self portraits.
Materials: watercolor, oil pastels and/or poster colours together with large sheets of paper or a large sketch book and/ or canvas. Pencils, eraser, brushes etc. A drawing board is useful - a piece of hardboard is fine.
